In Kurukshetra's recent state assembly elections, Congress claimed victory in Pehowa, Thanesar, and Shahabad, while the BJP's chief ministerial candidate Nayab Singh Saini won in Ladwa. Saini defeated sitting Congress MLA Mewa Singh by 16,054 votes. BJP attributes its success to the development work under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
